For me, the first time I was in a restaurant where they had those little muslin cloth things over the lemon wedge so that you didn't get pips in your foor, I thought I'd arrived.

My friends' mums shopped at 'Bejams' (Iceland, basically) and brought back all manner of processed delights whereas we had to make do with home-cooked food made from scratch out of proper ingredients. My sisters and I still sometimes rail at my parents because we never got Angel Delight :-(

I so badly miss my other half's cooking it's unreal. Unsurprisingly my daughter doesnt feel the same way at all and is in love with KFC.

Also, hot hand towels in restaurants. They still thrill me slightly - as long as I don't think about how well or otherwise they've been laundered. :-(
