did marlow half iron on sunday , 1.9km swim ,90 km ride, 21 km run..did it in 5 and half hours...appy with that for first attempt, especially as got battered all night in Barcelona last Wednesday with work and also up till 4am on fri eve/sat after big Italian meal and booze with inlaws then sniff with bro in law, smoked wed and Friday eve..well done me imo ..full iron next year
need to practice swimming though as nearly had panic attack imo.. 7am , I got into water in wrong place,at front corner trapped in along boats..im no great swimmer just casual and enough o get b in event..then horn went off and im in a melee of fists, people literally swimming over me, under me, kicking, hitting..f**king madness..cant move to sideas trapped by boats, I do about 300 meters flat out ..then start having tigh chest cant breath, etc, luckily found little pull in to let em past.
oh yes I beat Jamie Crcknell, ex Olympic now prospect tory mp ..ok heshad abash on head but I beat him 20 mins and had a pncture..wd me :)
overall 119 out of 400 + starters and 22nd in my category..40-45 :-)
