We have the no.2 and no.5 ranked bowlers ffs.

fast pitches. It's part of the reason they won 5-0 last time.

This pitch, by contrast, is a f**king disgrace.

This accumulation, on the other hand, is just tedious and mind-numbing. They might as well get together and agree what Australia will have at the close tonight, go home and start again tomorrow. I feel desperately sorry for anyone who's bought tickets for the first two days. There's just no cricket in it :-(

Australian batsman was running back to the wicket when the return throw from outfield hit his bat and headed towards the outfield again.

The Australian stood his ground.

"Good manners" to quote the commentator.

:hehe:

Probably went for tea soon after.

Despite on occasion horrific abuse and intimidation from Jorge and others.

excellent batting, luck or poor bowling but this pitch is just dead and I'd expect Kent to make 500 on it

You might as well buy a bloody bowler hat

scamper a single off the final ball. Clarke flings the ball in and it hits your bat and spoons out to third man, pulling up short of the boundary. The series is finely poised at 1-1 at this stage and a draw means the Aussies retain the Urn.

Now, he normally is not hurt and it is one of the most infuriating things in football however it exists.

A fairer comparison would be a side refusing to take advantage of a deflected shot.

If the ball struck a bat, inadvertently as was this scenario, and ran out for 4, what occurs?

which is brilliant when the county who plays there has one of the best bunch of pace bowlers in the country

Berni

that can be done about it. In cricket, to run in such a situation would be to take advantage of an accident and therefore unsporting.

I used to love the fact that the most prestigious cricket ground in the world used to have a pitch that not only sloped noticeably, but also had a f**king great ridge in the middle of it :hehe:

The basic decency thing is outweighed by the sheer stupidity of the fielder in throwing wildly imo

I also enjoyed the rousing reception the team got as they walked through the Long Room on the way to the pitch.

I suggest Arsenal do this for next season and the team leave the changing rooms and walk the whole way around the lower concourse before entering the field of play.

but as Peter said Mick Hunt has got it wrong this time which is a shame.

Thus rendering the question a moot point.
