View Full Version : Watched that KKK documentary last night and my question is this:

If these modern day KKK members are truthful that they have left behind the hate, prejudice and violence of their forebears, but retain the belief that they are the master race, how different are they to ANY religious person?

And if we are to hold these enlightened KKK members in contempt (which clearly we do), should we not do the same for ALL religiousers?

with religious people who practice their faith while remaining tolerant of others they are copping out from the truth which is that ALL religious people are worthy of our contempt.

I've met some absolutely delightful Christians, for instance. I just politely skirt around the fact that they think I'm going to hell and I think they're deluded. Equally, I've known some lovely racists.

This tendency to define people by their beliefs isn't helpful. Look at Jorge, for instance. He and I agree on virtually no aspect of politics, history or economics, but when we have met have got on famously. What people profess to believe is an overrated as a way of judging them. By their deeds shall ye know them imo.

Had I been answering your question, I wouldn have said 'Yes it is. I also watched, etc...'

Honestly, j, you really must try to keep up.

I've nearly finished Sons of Anarchy, I have to say I've really had to grit my teeth for more than half of it all.

I really loved the first two series. Although watching Leela out of Futurama get brutally gang raped was a bit rough, tbh.
