particularly difficult when it was open 24 hours - that was dangerous. Questions the following morning like "LA, why is there a 7kg box of celebrations in the middle of the lounge floor"

For a while I thought it was some sort of diet version of stuff.

Personally, with my nocturnal predelictions, the 7kilo box of celebrations would render you some sort of god. Tell me you got skins though, yeah?

I had a long hard look at myself (probably in a shop window), seized the moment and relocated to a floor in Muswell Hill and proceeded to find those fables streets lined with gold etc.

I used to love Walthamstow to be fair.

Incredible stat but not once did I ever leave that place in any condition other than completely flaming drunk.

'I saw you on Farringdon road'

That wasn't me.

I still had the feeling he lived in Essex road. but not sure. The last PM he sent me said he was at home and he could hear the steel drummers play outside angel station. This was on the new years eve. If he could hear the drums I wonder where he was. St John Street perhaps, maybe the end of Liverpool road around Ritchie street perhaps.

What you're telling me is that you yearn for Essex life.

And, as Ash will tell you, you cant recreate a community once divorced from the built environment that bore it, for all sorts of psychogeographical reasons.

After all, Hertford is a lovely place, while only 10 miles or so away lurks Harlow, which is a beating heart of low-grade evil.

The problem with your argument is that it's all a bit Prince Charles. You yearn for a time that was largely gone when you were growing up. And it went for all sorts of reasons - not the least of which was immigration and the desire of any 'salt of the earth' Londoner to escape London the minute they got the chance.

London has always been a giant sponge for immigration from all over the empire.

PS, it was only a mildly tongue-in-cheek comment to wind up SW because he was one of the navvies that built over the dog track.
