I don't think I spent any time thinking about the implications of the thing as a whole until I knew she was back home safely. And even then I was so relieved it wasn't until the evening that the reality of it started to sink in.

to meet some girl I had been chatting up online. :hide: ICQ style probably back then.

I was on my way to Kings cross via tube when it all kicked off. Very strange. Then they told us to get out the station. and exited through the Thameslink part.

I thought it was the old standard bomb scare. So I trying to get around the cordon to reach the mainline station so I was thwarted.

Them mysteriously there was no phone signal whatsoever. I was probably using a Nokia 8210 or something at that point. hmmm 2005 probably a sony ericcson.
I tried to find a phone box but there were queues for it, Then I tried to use the phone in the travellodge but they refused.

Anyway after realsing I wasn't getting anywhere and seeing people coming out of the station wrapped in foil and then hearing a bus has blown up. I strolled home and to reconcile myself I bought a strange yellow Arsenal training top.

No much of a story really. But these small things can alter your life.

What if I had gone to Doncaster It might have altered my women timeline which would change everything.

I could have rearranged the weekend but never did.

Given that I was working two minutes from Liverpool Street at the time.

A colleague, who was in the TA, told us that he had contemplated telling his commanding officer that he worked with young chaps from NI. I have to assume he never did.

I genuinely see people get off the bus/tube if they don't like the look of someone (bearded, muslim, has a bag), still.

If it's very menacing then I've been known to disembark and get onto the next train if I'm in no rush.

I played a cup final in 1993 against a side called PYO.

Progressive Youth Organisation formed by Bangladeshi people in the east end of London. It was quite the scene as they were rather rude and tried to be aggressive, lots of massive flag waving etc. on the touchlines.

Naturally we won 3-1 and sent them back to where they came from with their respective tails between their legs.

I recall them being very rude to me on one occasion as I took a free kick. Naturally I did not understand one word they were saying but I doubt they were complimenting me on my performance.
