More interesting, though, is the fact that she supposedly works with traumatised children. I'm forced to ask whether they start off traumatised or if the trauma kicks in when they clap eyes on her? :yikes:

that's more 'Awwww, bless' than outrageous, really.

Hang on, though, there is some cretin suggesting that the best way of giving poor pupils a good education is to stop streaming by ability and essentially get rid of selection in all the good schools, thus ensuring that they're all ****.

everything wrong by virtue of being wrong on pretty much every topic you could care to name.

I do love this 'he's a man who sticks by his principles' line about him, though. As if sticking by entirely wrongheaded and disastrous principles were somehow admirable. Pol Pot stuck by his f**king principles, ffs! Doesn't make me want to vote for him, though.

We've some 'housing association ' properties not far away. Needless to say, plod are up there on a fairly regular basis, presumably either arresting them or defending the poor sods with large mortgages who live around them.

Even the savviest social enterprise style charities with big assets to sweat still rely on central or local government grants to keep operating.

In fact, Dave has personally intervened on several occasions to ensure Kids Co got their grants in the face of misgivings. I cant imagine why this situation wouldve changed since may 2015.

We have taxation and a welfare state for that. Charity should be funded purely by voluntary contributions by private individuals or organisations.

Third sector pathfinders and big society infrastructure ahoy!

Seriously though, it's been the policy of successive govts to put charities in charge of running community assets - former schools, youth centres, community centres - on peppercorn rent arrangements for decades now. That way they can arms length delivery and get costly to maintain assets off of their balance sheets.

The real scandal is the academies that are being gifted schools for nominal fees, we're talking 1 pound here, on the basis they are set up as charities, social enterprises or CICs. The people running the academy chains are then claiming salaries in the hundreds of thousands - often using money borrowed on the back of the often multimillion pound brick and mortar assets they've been gifted - whilst claiming all sorts of extra, and quite often unneeded, funding streams from the DofE who are only too happy to keep their pet projects afloat whilst orthodox schools are underfunded and left to rot.

Nice work if you can get it.
