only go so far. That even if you think that your greatest calling and mission is to realize yourself as a Chicano lesbian or whatever you want, that you are a working person, breathing the same polluted air, that you are being exploited, that you may not have a job, that you have to pay rent, etc.
These different identity groups have worked so hard during the 70s and 80s to distinguish themselves and to address all those other issues (identity politics), i.e. to emancipate themselves.
But they all have to realize that they have the same common enemy and that this enemy will round up all the blacks, the latinos, gays, the Chicano lesbians and so on.
A lot of these issues are, of course, interlinked. That is not to reduce it, i.e. to say that these particular issues don't have particular grievances, histories, and agendas: women's issues, gay issues, black issues, etc.; they all have that. But they are all related in some way to class struggle, even if they cannot be reduced to it. It's time for the people to stand up to neoliberal identity politics and conservative media bias.

post reflect the degeneracy of the moral fabric, right?
I then agree that such programmes are ****, but only because they are the inevitable result of the cultural logic of the established mode of production, i.e. that such identity politics fails to take account of the theoretical difference of the materialist position that all struggles stem from material conditions and thus class-struggle, and the idealist position that all struggles are born from the mind and all systems intersect and reinforce each other equally.

I do love the swivel-eyed right's insistence that the bbc is some sort of weird PC slash communist conspiracy though. Just watch or listen to their news output for god's sake.
