View Full Version : Blimey. It's good to see the progressive left moving away from damaging national stereotypes, isn't

I love the idea that it's supposed to be less offensive because she's not represented as a Nazi, but as an East German border guard. :hehe:

Have I imagined that?

You've been reading the guardian too much, I think you're finding offence where nobody has left any.

The only word to describe Steve Bell is 'c**t'.

Two words work better. 'Unfunny c**t'.

'Isn't he/she a German, though?'

Do you imagine - having grown up in the DDR - that Merkel relishes being represented as a member of the brutal, murderous and oppressive state regime under which she was forced to live?

I'd say if you don't see how it could be offensive, you're not thinking hard enough.

they rarely travel further away from their own front doors than Magaluf, their views are necessarily one-eyed.

which ios, of course, only a cliche because it's true.

From Bavaria (southern Europe) came the peasants with their medieval ideology. They teamed up with their mates from Prussia (northern Europe) who were efficient and hard-working.

The mix worked out pretty well between 1933 and 1941.

It's just like the EU really.
