I find those people who 'like cars' to be among the dullest, most tedious people on the planet and the general subject of "cars" is something I run a mile from.

On the other hand, I bloody love my car, will often just go and look at it out the window and nothing sorts my head out like a long country drive.

The concept of a leisurely drive for the sake of it. Driving is (for me) for getting from point A to point B when you have a specific reason to be at point B.

And I do not like being a passenger when another person is driving so invariably I am the c**t at the wheel.

I love cricket, for instance, and am pretty knowledgable about it, but will back away very quickly from the sort of person who can quote last year's County Championship averages at me.

Any enthusiasm will attract bores. Football is no different as it seems to me that when you start banging on about inverted triangles and false nines - or discussing the Erdivisie - you may have crossed a dangerous borderline. The only difference is that it's considered more socially acceptable to be a football bore.
