View Full Version : I have a somewhat delicate issue to address.

A friend of mine needed to borrow some monies a few months a go. I shipped him 3k, then 5k a week or so later. He then repaid the 3k, but a week later needed another 5k, so I sent that over. So he borrowed 13k, and repaid 3, leaving a balance of 10, correct?

He's just emailed me to say he is now in funds and will repay the 8k he owes me, having borrowed 13 and repaid 5 :-(

There is no way I can possibly take issue, obviously, but it would be nice to find a way to get him to check his figures without being vulgar about it.

idly perusing your account(s) and happened to notice that in fact the figure was not x but in fact y and that everyone's clearly been very silly and forgetful, etc. Hahahahahahahahagimmebackmymoneyhahahahahahahaha

Shall we discuss this somewhere a little more private? You dirty minx!

He is f**king you over.

Now....how would you approach this matter if the person involved wasnt a friend?

I can have his legs broken if you want.

You should have broken one of his legs as collateral tbh.

Then when he takes offence at your tone laugh as if it was just banter between chums.

Thing is you have got your message across.

Then take legal action. I can represent you here. I will not take a fee unless we win.

are precisely nil.

I could say that I thought he'd repaid 8, and best he should check...

It turns out they did an overly thorough and attentive job and it's unlikely he'll be able to walk again.

No chance. He is a friend and a gentleman.

I think they probably broke his table legs too.

f**king criminals, I doubt they'd think twice about ****ting on their own doorstep or looking after their mums nowadays.

It's just not right. There used to be rules.

This is just horrible.

I'd rather walk away from the 2k tbh. :-(

We are not talking about perhaps a jacket you left around his gaff one night after a particularly drunken soiree and he has failed to return.

It may be a simple issue of bad mathematics, but then he may simply be trying to swindle you.

If not, as he is your friend, just say it to him. Far too much money to be proud about.

thought aloud and said 'was it 8k or was it 10k' in a confused manner.

You could have made out that you weren't sure and then you could have worked it out together, side by side.

I think you'll have to write that 2k off now, I'm afraid.

I've got to go for my aviation medical now. If you want to earn some proper money, that's the thing to get into. Become a CAA Authorised Medical Examiner, work for about 2 years, and retire in f**king luxury :-(

Compton Abbas airfield. They had a German there who flew a splendid routine. Excellent day out - and nice to clap the pilots in when they walk directly from aircraft to bar.

price.

It does rather beg the question of why one wouldn't just get a credit card/loan with good APR. C'est la vie, I suppose.
