what they're going for online :yikes:

To be honest, I'd rather play that Saturday, but they've been sent to me by my MCC member uncle, which means I can't in all conscience sell them.

I shall go, I suppose. However, if it turns out the day gets washed out and I've missed out on flogging them for 600 quid, I won't be happy. :-(

it is only f**king cricket at the end of the day. Not a proper sport.

You know, if we break down and analyse the components of the day then there is worse scenarios known to man - a leisurely and hassle free day enjoying top quality sport at it's highest level while enjoying a few beers.

Your issue is perhaps the weather though crucially an issue utterly beyond your control, hence not worth overly stressing about.

He's a member of Phoenix Park CC, which is one of the oldest cricket clubs in the world and offers associate membership of the MCC.

Full on whites etc, not just a few lads messing about.

Not what one expects in leafy and affluent Dublin 14.

I've played at Pembroke CC in Sandymount, which is a nice ground. And of course Trinity's ground in College Park is one of the most picturesque grounds in the British isles imho.

Post work when perhaps two teams are cracking ball off willow.

There was also a cricket pitch in Terenure behind Quinlans Pub which the roof terrace overlooked. Many a hungover saturday spent in recovery watching games.

Then I was partly responsible for human reproduction and the above scenarios ceased with almost immediate effect.
