View Full Version : A rather nice description of Phil Jones from F365

PHIL JONES: "I read after the (Italy) game that I was no Pirlo but then I could have told you that before the game started...I know what I am good at and I try to stick with that." It turns out that a) Jones is no Nathaniel Clyne either and b) he really isn't very good at throw-ins. He's awful enthusiastic though, like a half-trained labrador that will lollop off to fetch a stick and then sh*t in your shoes.

but rather cunningly that allowed me to watch England bat in the cricket - right up to the point where they pissed it all away

in the words of Bumble "I want ten an over and don't take any risks"
We could also use some bowlers capable of getting someone out.

Leaves us light in the bowling department. Mind you I think Stokes is arguably too hight at 5 as well. I guess it allows them some flexibility but they haven't changed the order yet. Might as well put Root in to open as well - he's usually in early enough.

Not sure really where they look for the bowlers - though New Zealand hardly got us out, nearly everyone was out to poor shots

My word, the boy ate all his Weetabix yesterday morning didn't he. That is a pretty decent keeper he's beaten as well

He's still a bit of a silly boy but that aside he's rather good.

his average is going to look **** as well.
I'd play Willey (stop sniggering) for either him or Jordan.
Stokes just never looks like he going to last long, even on good pitches, he appears to have taken the new approach to be even more reckless than he was already.
I tend to agree you can't have him doing that at 5.

doesn't help, although they dropped a few as well.

Lallana looked more like the Southampton version than the Liverpool one

no I will not stop sniggering.

See Middlesex's 2020 form has returned to normal - at least our players don't headbutt each other though

I haven't watched him that much. But from what I have seen he hasn't been very good.

I have a feeling we are in for him despite the big money being mentioned.

first thought when I heard about the "two Surrey players", Pietersen and Graeme Smith aren't going to be playing are they ? :-(
