The nearest I've felt to that is the take-off from City Airport, which can be quite hair-raising if you're not expecting it.

Those flashy take offs aren't flashy at all, really. You take off normally and accelerate in ground effect, then use the excess speed to pull to high alpha.

I know they can do some pretty remarkable things when they need to. What state those 280 people would be in afterwards would be another matter, of course. :hehe:

I was always a bit old-fashioned with regard to a little bit of fire protection. If the thing's in flames I wanted to be able to function for 3 minutes to get it on the deck and run away.
