Honda have completely f**ked up. This season is a write off anyway because they've now used almost all their engines so there will be grid penalties and drive throughs between now and November.

20kph slower than the top speed car in Canada :hehe: A bit of a farce really.

So only correct then that one is referred to as such.

Worse for me is the retired Army Officer who still retains his title.

However, insisting on your rank below that level is considered very poor form. Majors themselves are a bit of a grey area, though, I think.

To ask or insist on being referred to as such is surely the hallmark of a complete c**t.

It is a meaningless title outside their world. I know many Doctors and Professors for example but would never dream of referring to them as such outside of if I ever addressed them in a professional sense.

Thankfully I don't move in Military circles else it would cause me huge issues.

of an A320. These guys can be 20 years old with a grand total of 250 hours flying experience.

:-(

Unfortunately the growth in air travel is so great and the pressure for pilots so high, there is no way they are going to go back to proper training.

There is no way I'm going on a budget airline ever again.

There I was, shooting the breeze with a trolley dolly as I was stuck behind the drinks wagon. She mentioned in passing it was a female captain and I voiced my astonishment at which point the conversation kind of died.

f**ked if I would let a bint fly a plane.

Berni

Firstname Second-Name', which I find awfully cumbersome.

I mean obviously no-one in their right mind would insist on being called Dr or Professor rather than 'Steve', but you would always give them their honorific if you were addressing them formally, surely? I agree that insisting on being called 'Sir Steve' does make you a c**t, though. Mind you, it's only polite to address them first as that and give them the opportunity to ask you just call them Steve, I'd have thought.

Sir Charlie of Nicholas

There is no place for such rudeness. In fact, this behaviour would make one much more of an arsehole than the arsehole in question. IMO.

Surely if there were any crashes due to inexperience, this would cause people to go back to proper training, wouldn't it?

Those chapos also weren't operating incredibly complex machinery. A WWII aircraft, whilst not easy to fly, is incredibly simple as far as systems management is concerned.

She popped out of the cockpit at one point and I clocked her. The uniform suggested Pilot or Stripper and given the circumstances I went with the former.

She *seemed* to fly the thing perfectly well but then we both know a computer does most of the work.

I do wonder about the etiquette there, tbh. If your wife is a stunner, but you find yourself in a situation where some other bloke gets a go on her and you're stuck with his dog of a wife, can you object on the grounds that it's not a fair swap? Or is that just the rub of the green? Surely there should be some sort of seeding system (as it were)?

He was brought round to meet the staff once.
