I've known smackheads, drunks, crackheads, speedfreaks and pillheads. Some of them are dead, of course, but most of them are now useful members of society. And not one of them could f**k their lives harder or faster than a gambling addict. The ones of those I've known are pretty much all dead or (I assume) living on the street. Of all the addicts, they're the worst. They're all chasing something utterly impossible, I guess. Their high is always intangible. They can't even overdose. Poor *******s.
