Always in this circumstances suspect number 1 would be cleaning staff. It's sad they will always be the first choice to be questioned. (though they usually are guilty)

Then you always need to look at the person who puts themselves forward as the the detective trying to shift suspicion away from themselves.

What's the best way leave a item on a desk and put a camera up?
