I had a f**king wicked time at my mum's wake.
There was another won, I can't remember whose, where the buffet consisted of a million deep fried snacks which i imagine came from Iceland. There were things with melty cheese in, there were little sausages, chicken wings, you know the score. Magnificent.

Irish ones will always be a mix of chore and good piss up. And usually, if it's my family, a couple of tear ups too, once Danny Boy is out the way.
This one was basically a civil funeral at a crematorium, fascinatingly they sort of observe all the weirder funeral tropes, flowers, wreaths, velvet curtains, lord's prayer.

When I was aregular attendee in the days of sacrificing young men to the gods of aviation, the widows and young kids were a bit depresssing.
I hope it wasn't someone too close, j.

I've not even met the guy, was there as moral support for my mate whose Dad it was. I was basically meat in the room.
And I was driving so not even any post-mortem swally. A rum do all round.

The only attractive women there were the grown up daughters of my mate and not even I would transgress to that level.

You can't wear a dress shirt with a lounge suit.
You can't go to a funeral without a black tie.
Go and get yourself a black suit, black tie and white shirt. And polish your f**king shoes.

even have a velvet blazer that I reckon would look quite nice. It has a skull lapel pin, though. Maybe not.
She's not dead yet, so there's still time. I will probably do the whole 'decent suit'-thing when the time comes.

I recommend Paul Smith for the suit. Boss has gone to ****.
I very much hope she will be fine, of course. Good luck to you all.
