When I frequented the Bull & Gate in Kentish Town it was a music venue, pool table in the front bar from memory and very loud music of varying quality in the back.

Starbucks or something now I believe. There was an article on it's closure in a weekend newspaper at the time, Guardian perhaps, which brought it to my attention. Ash then confirmed.

I had a mate in band who would sometimes play there so we would be in the front row*.

My local for about 2 years on Green Lanes was as minging a pub as one could get, the stick of one’s shoe to the floor as one wobbled to the jacks and absolutely f**k all food to speak of.

Went back there about 2 seasons ago before a game and people were sharing bottles of wine and the bloke behind the bar enquired as to whether I wanted chorizo or blue cheese on my burger.

Very decent matchday pub now I should say.
