I needed a piss and having fought off the temptation to go in the pool I found myself passing the gym area in search of the gents.

I popped my head in to check the socio-demographic grouping that may be in there. Really was a mish-mash of all sorts from huge f**kers to chaps who looked ill.

By difference I meant free weights v the machine things.

I know what a f**king bench is.

Free weights are better in that they work your "core", the deep postural muscles that look after your back and spine. They are also handy for effete Jews too scared to ask fellow gym goers to spot them.

I joined a gym once in London early 90s, somewhere around Old Street direction. First night I went with a mate and hopped off every piece of equipment they had to offer, easy peasy as such. Recovered immediately thereafter by going on the piss.

Could barely move the next few days such was the muscular agony. f**k that.

I was always a team based sports activity (with a ball) type of guy.
