View Full Version : SummerHolidayWIMB: Need hot in July/Aug that isn't c 750+ for flights.
Anywhere in SE Asia that's dry season and reasonably priced flights? Was thinking maybe Indonesia? Wanted to do Caribbean but flights are v expensive this late in the day.
That aside European recommendations welcome - looking for somewhere hot but not a beach holiday. Need a pool/beach + nearby town at least.
Not too many things to consider as you can see.
My thanks in advance AWIMB.
Cheap flights = anywhere that Ryanair, Easyjet, etc fly to
2 weeks in Portugal in July :-)

But spain all generally f**k off to the coast so there's plemnty of hot, non beachy, action to be had over there.
We managed to get a ridiculous price for a suite in a hotel right on the plaza mayor in Madrid.

Get on the train.
I'm in the mood for somewhere where I'll complain about the unbearable heat.
Was it hot then? 22-24 isn't that hot is it?
I'm not very good with numbers.

I love that ****, I'm like a lizard. I spend 11 months a year in the dank, dingy, damp Pennine north so I recharge my batteries like Ray Winstone in Sexy Beast.
I'm the exact sort of person who would get abducted and put on Al Jazeera.
I was just tempted by the UAE as I found a hideously reasonable deal on some sort of palace/castle hotel but was instantly vetoeD.
Ultimately, I want to sit at a pool, chug pina coladas, and be lathered down in aloe vera come nightfall.

Really depends what you’re after.
So much riding to be done on Greek islands.

As I eat several times a day, sometimes even four, I do consider food to be an important part of proceedings. I mean, I'm no Monty or Sir C style gastroponce but I want some food along the way.
I'm going to go out on a limb and assume J is to well bred for the ITV2 style debauchery of the greek islands, even in an ironic sense. One, afterall, can only be ironic for so long.
feisty tbh..I mainly stayed in the grounds of the hotel after that..lots of teeth sucking , spitting n general attitude..and that was just me
n ****e..then nice big beach..cheap camping n appartnents to be had ..go Lagos young man

Nothing wrong with that. If you are on holiday now you have a 7-8 year old daughter with you, the entire scope of holiday planning is different. I am in the same boat.
Jake is a youth. He will of course want to eat but equally so he will want to party like it is still 1999.
2 meals a day and a kebab on the way home if he has any money left.
http://www.lagos.me.uk/bars.html also you can fly cheap to lisbon is summer then get train down or rent car ..sometiems cheaper than Faro airport..or get cheap package and accom or fly out of bristol or brum if its looking pricey

I kind of fell out of an Irish bar in Alvor last year.
It was the Mrs fault, I tend to avoid such places when I can. Bizarrely enough we ended up drinking with a load of your lot.

It would hardly play well back home in deeply conservative ireland, that you were availing yourself of each and every pleasure afforded to you by the greeks and their penchant for the lubricating qualities of olive oil.
I'm not debating you had the odd oyster, were it to be offered you, I am however saying you filled your boots with snails.

So one week it was trying to cop a feel of chubby nurses working in the Whittington to the next week sniffing out any English bird with a faintly northern accent as you just knew she would let you do anything and didn't even care if you knew her name.
