By at it I mean making himself look like a thick c**t of course.

way. It's almost as though the idea that millions and millions of ordinary people don't think the way he does had never really occurred to him before, isn't it? Bless.

I do find this to be a trait peculiar to the left. Why should it be? Are they a more naturally naive and optimistic bunch than us hardened, cynical, misanthropic chaps on the right?

Jake

He bottles his allegiance he made the other day and repeats useless generalisations which don't help anyone.

He's done absolutely nothing useful to actually reinforce his beliefs and therefore aid the people he apparently wants to help.

speak. I was mentally preparing myself for the worst, which is the way to look at these things since one can then only be pleasantly surprised.

Today, I'm in a rather splendid mood. I'm contemplating celebrating with a rather spectacular and eye-wateringly expensive first growth claret that I've been saving for a special occasion.

Jake

Instead he's released a superficial statement the week before the election, gone back on it post-election and returned to spouting generalised, utterly unproductive nonsense.

The man is useless and, clearly, an egotistical prick.

...think the way he does.

Is it a trait particular to the right, do you think?

I imagine this will only enhance your sensation though.

Besides, let the record show that yesterday's despondency was actually anomalous to my otherwise consistently correct analysis of what was going to happen.

Entertaining all the same, not to mention well meaning in an ineffectual, butterfly mind way.

See, America gets John Stewart and we get him. Hardly seems fair, really.

Still, you cant knock a bloke for having opinions and expressing them though. Can you? I mean, even if he's not gone to the right schools and that.

Whereas when you do it, you're thinking of other people.

Or, as your man PJO'R put it, smart people would rather that, whatever it is government does, on balance, it's better it does it to somebody else.

But then jorge would point out that you were referring to the left :-)

Either drop this faux-galvanising approach or actually mean it and do it properly.

I find it massively frustrating. I'm sure he does mean well, but on the surface it looks like someone who likes to maintain the limelight without really doing anything about what he's talking about. It's just artificial.

Unpredictable it was going to be. I think we both banked on the mass of voters reverting to type amd, generally, they did.

Admittedly the one place where they didnt, scotland, is the bit i didnt see coming but it didnt have any effect on the prediction and the outcome.

I knew you were in a tasty mood before i gave the umpire my jumper. All's fair an all that :-)

Indeed, having banked on them hurting taking votes away from the tories in marginals, it's ironic that Labour's most high-profile casualty almost certainly came about because of UKIP taking Labour votes.

Peter

And then stand down if it gets nasty after the vote. He will presumably want to give the next leader a run in for the mext election.

A change of leadership takes the sting out of any revolt.

on a pretty poor lookout if nobody can be bothered to actually *do* any evil. Or having done something naughty, promptly disappear back into the shadows or go back to work or school.

Twitter is like Google Maps for the people who need to find the people who need to be double-tap droned with Tomahaw .. I mean, crisis managed and humanitarian-aided back towards prosperity and peace, smothered with love and sympathy and understanding.

Hopefully, that young daughter of mine who went mad with her mother's credit card in Barcelona the other week is next.
