On the one hand, her gung-ho talk of shutting the Tories out of Downing Street helped her achieved near-total success in Scotland, but at the same time undoubtedly spooked a lot of English voters into voting tory in order to prevent such a thing. And, given that the tories are going to do their damnedest to ensure such a threat never rears its head again, she may feel she missed Scotland's one chance to really shape a national agenda.

On the other hand, she may just figure that a Tory government will help make the case for independence in Scotland stronger, so she was always in a win-win situation. :shrug:

I do believe the Scottish influence in this election was far greater than the Tories and Labour will ever admit to.

I'm not generally nationalistic but the thought of that squeaky little **** stirrer having any kind of sway over England left me cold. The sooner they're cut loose the better.
