I'd wager that, were we to sign those two instead, that would constitute a very successful summer.

he would need to be alongside somebody more defensive and we already have Ramsey, Cazorla and Wilshere competing for that position.
Like you I wouldn't say no but someone like Schneiderlin would probably be a more likely target.

Heard always suggests contact with a person ITK, as such. As opposed to your mate who read it on the internet.

I do suspect United is his likely UK destination though would still like to see us involved. Wonderful footballer.

apart from the fact that he plays in midfield.

Of course, all the usual caveats apply.

tbh I'm not so sure Gundogan is what we need, he's still not really back from injury completely. I'd rather go for Kondogbia, personally.

I also accept that 2-3 of those resources can hardly be viewed as being huge contributors to the cause – Rosicky, Flamini, Diaby. There must also be a level of uncertainty regarding Mikel.

Without over thinking the tactical element of who plays where, I just think he is a wonderful footballer who may be available at a reasonable price, a level of talent which would certainly improve the squad. I would also have seen him as having much more defensive capabilities than any of the 3 you named, without being an out and out ‘DM’ to use that wonderfully restrictive term.

Having an unfortunate incident with Gervinho Yao Kouassi at the bar.

especially the wonderful player and price, I just think it's unlikely.
He is more defensively capable than most of ours, yes, but Dortmund play him alongside Bender or Kehl normally (apart from when they were both injured and he played with Sahin, when they kept losing) I still think he would be best alongside Coquelin.
Don't get me wrong I'd like him but I have a feeling Wenger will see it as blocking Ramsey and Wilshere's devlopment somewhat.

I see the Wilshere issue as one that will be a concern for all.

been out for 9-10 months but he was absolutely brilliant before that, he will be well down the pecking order now, we were also linked last summer.
Not sure what to make about Wilshere to be honest, he flatters to deceive most of the time but I'd still be reluctant to sell him, just incase.

One being his phenomenal talent, the other being what he represents.

Now unless he can force himself back into the first 11 then you never know how he and his team my react in time and we're both long enough in this game to know the score.

I had forgotten all about Martinez tbh. As you say another wonderful footballer whom Bayern really pushed the boat out for after losing the CL final in their home ground, pre-Guardiola all the same.

in all the big games last season, he doesn't seem to fancy him for some reason, perhaps he isn't considered technical enough.
Plus now they have Thiago and Alonso, I can definitely see him being available.
I make you right re Jack, I actually think the best thing for him would be a loan somewhere, like when Aaron went back to Cardiff post injury.
It won't happen though.

He shall then be questioned on local media reporting.

Let's hope he didn't drunkenly stumble into that bonfire.
