View Full Version : Right. This team of 'carers' presumably keep putting food in front of this man, do they?

How can anyone justify doing that and calling themselves a 'carer'? It's like putting an overdose of heroin in front of a junky and calling it 'care'. These people should be prosecuted.

I did like "Earlier this week Georgia Davis, 22, weighing 60 stone, who was once Britain's fattest teenager, had to be airlifted out of her home in Wales."

But then he would be a freak.

Fair to say that is not his best photo.

Also, point of note, those carers will be agency staff meaning that not only do we effectively pay for a morbidly obese man to get fatter we are also paying an agency to skim off roughly a third of that money. I doubt the carers even get a living wage from the job.

Isn't the marketised NHS a wonderful thing?

Either way he is a dirty ******* of course so I suspect he will quaff it down regardless.

There is of course other questions here that need to asked. I assume, given his inability to move, that he does not work, so his 200 pounds per week takeaway bill is funded how? I assume he is a recipient of your much fabled and extremely generous benefits system – unemployment benefit, disability benefit, fat c**t wedge aka carers benefit.

It's all sounding a bit Flat Earth Society now. It doesn't take a genius to work out, with tougher benefits sanctions and the removal of crisis loans, that there are people out there, families even, going without food.

Also, the assumption that if someone uses a foodbank it's because they need to is ridiculous. If you offer free food, people will take it. No-one in this country is going hungry, it's just a lie.

Based in Merthyr Tydfil. Anyway lady lost her job at local council amenity and was shown next day going to her local food bank on the Gurnos estate where she was provided with a bag full of various foodstuffs including biscuits, more biscuits and hot dogs. Of course the television editing could have meant the time lag between the two events was longer but it appeared not.

It then showed her getting herself ready for a date that evening.

The lady was unemployed but appeared to be far from destitute.

I suspect, without any evidence which let’s face it is the true AWIMB way, it is essentially a free for all.

Given the fact that local authorities make the referrals in the first place I would imagine the department for communities and local government would be able to produce some figures to rebut the Trussel Trust ones fairly easily.

government. The lefty media love it because they love something that appears to be a physical indictment of society, etc, etc, while the 'poor' just see the chance of a free slap-up feed from the do-gooders. Everyone's in it for entirely self-serving and cynical reasons. It's a racket.

The figures don't exist, or have not been published, because they would be embarrassing. If there were a single chance for the government to rebut the argument they would have taken it with both hands.

Knowing what I know about the NHS at the moment that funding application would likely need to go to the Cabinet Office, which would be where the problems would arise.

So, in short, yes

You even pointed to there being a massive leftist conspiracy.

Berni

anything. Equally, I didn't say there was a conspiracy, simply that it suited all parties to cynically perpetuate the myth of a need for food banks.

And all your rubbish about a cover-up is just that, I'm afraid.

Classic Jorge

I also pointed out why any attempt to carry out a study would probably be rejected for those reasons. Given these the only facts we have to go on would be the food bank usage ones.

Berni
05-01-2015, 10:43 AM
because there is simply no medical evidence - anecdotal or statistical - that large numbers of people are going hungry? Indeed, you have the NHS regularly reporting that people are getting dangerously fatter - particularly among the lower socio-economic groups. Is that just a big fat smokescreen for the real story of starving waifs, then?

As I said earlier, a much simpler and easier thing would be for them to release the figures on referrals, which they won't do.

Make your own conclusion as to why.
