opposing non-stunned Halal, opposing the legalisation of dangerous drugs. Some sympathy with leaving the EU and cutting bureacucracy in the NHS. Capital punishment is a must. The state shouldn't get involved in promoting sexual inclinations. The rest is nonsense.

I mean, since we prohibited the use, possession and import of them hardly anybody uses drugs any more.

wd the misuse of drugs act 1971 imo, top work

quite like the idea of junkies being given the means to kill themselves following their bliss.

without being accused of assault or abuse or whatever. I think you need to distinguish between a spur of the moment admonitory smack and systematic beatings. To equate the two is just crass.

Also, the trend is broadly towards stronger criminalisation, when you consider things like re-banding and the classification of new things as illegal.

The interesting thing is countries like Portugal seem to be doing interesting stuff with their policies. The decriminalisation seems to have hit crime figures massively, not to mention reduced the cost to their healthcare system.

These would seem like good things to me. Maybe we should base more of our social policies on evidence rather than daily mail editorials, we might even earn a decent tax take.

Placing a premium on the product actively incentivises successive mongers to adulterate it. It's almost a perfect system in that sense.

She'd probably think capital punishment is a must too.

In short, I think you should swipe right on this one, Mo.

drugs would have a positive effect on crime are being naive. crime thrives on illegality. Make heroin available on the NHS and the big boys will move onto something else. Or sell cheaper smuggled heroin.

The irony of course is that many pro-drugs campaigners favour stricter controls on smoking tobacco.

Though I'm not sure the people cutting heroin batches take as scientific an approach.

One thing I am curious about is, is there some sort of grading of drugs for you or is it just a blanket thing? Do you think any of the legal, more socially acceptable, drugs are worse than any of the illegal ones?

life that's what it is about. No point in making simple things complicated. Alcohol is ok, alcoholics are not.

activists.

Worse? Well the more addictive, incapacitating and unpredictable the drug the more dangerous it is and the likelier it should be banned.

From a purely pragmatic standpoint, we could tax a lot of those drugs massively. All of that lovely moolah we're freely handing over to foreign criminal gangs - because they're all foreign, y'know - we could be having that.

With glue the restricted the sale to certain establishments and prohibited the sale of it to children. Seems quite a logical move, really.

Of course, it was a nightmare. It encouraged glue usage to the point were people were burgling houses and mugging people for glue money. Personally I think we'd be better off with stuff just not sticking together. They only sell the sellotape to buy more glue anyway.
