is the way we have really wound up chelsea by singing the boring boring chelsea. Moaninho and the players all seem really upset by it. We have really got under their skin. Absolutely brilliant.

Actually, I was talking to a reasonable Chelsea fan the other day and he admitted he was bemused and slightly ashamed that a team that far ahead in the league went out in a game against opposition they have regularly beaten easily in recent years (sadly, true - at least under Mourinho) and played with no intention of winning. His theory was that not losing to Wenger has now taken on an undue importance in Mourinho's mind because of all the jibes he's aimed at Arsene, resulting in the almost obsessive caution we saw on Sunday.

world, particularly since it's abundantly clear it's not the best in terms of quality. Indeed, the idea that the league can be won at a canter by a relatively humdrum team that gets knocked out in the last 16 of the CL by a team that themselves get thrashed by Barcelona is a bit of a threat to their 'believe in better'/'it's really worth all the money, honest' schtick.

And hearing it from Neville FFS. Have Sky ever mentioned the disgusting chants about Arsene at OT amongst others?

Did you see my reply re: Art Nouveau in Aalesund, btw? Interesting story, actually. Place burned down in 1905 and Kaiser Wilhelm paid for it to be rebuilt in the style it was, with the result that they remember the ghastly old warmonger there with remarkable fondness. Even being occupied by the Nazis in WWII doesn't seem to have dimmed their admiration for him, in fact.

It just matters that it's entertaining. And regardless of perceptions of Chelsea, the enduring popularity of the Premier League proves that it is.

they don't get it, as Arsene correctly put it, their financial doping plays a big part in their success. Hence why compliments are scarce.

he has cultivated similar relationships with his main local rivals in every city he's managed in?

That would make sense footballistically, I think.

with how our season seems to be panning out. I have forgotten the fact that had we done something in the summer to cover for our lack of defenders & a holding midfield player that everyone knew we were short of, we would have possibly gone very close to winning the title.
Next season will be tougher still as the likes of Man U & Man city will not be passive in the market.

I am very happy with our season while accepting that we made errors last summer. We were to a degree handicapped by injuries to key players but all football teams suffer injury, it is how they cope with them that is the mark of the side.

Getting over excited because we appear to have upset Chelsea? Jesus f**king christ, let's not be utter f**king spastics here.

Remember how we laughed at how Spurs celebrated their draw with us in 2004, even though we had won the league. It is not a massive hop, skip and jump to the general tone of this topic.

I seem to recall Sanchez being in such form as to almost compensate for a missing forward, though there is no doubt that having as many options available as possible can only help.

Was our major handicap not in defence where we lost two key players at the same time forcing us to use players like Chambers who perhaps was not ready or Monreal in an unfamiliar position. Both of whom did very well incidentally.

It's a collective, factor in then Ozil / Ramsey, Mertesacker perhaps not being in the best form of his career (which again may have been not helped by aforementioned issues).

Chelsea stormed out of the blocks while we fell.

Of course there is, and we found one in january didnt we?

The two things thst helped us turn things around were the impact of bellerin and the emrgence of coquelin in the midfield, both 'discovered' lsrgely as a result of injuries and lack of cover. So you could argue the lack of cover helped :-)

I dont think we were going to win the league either way so it isnt a big deal i suppose.

It doesnt really matter either way but it is perhaps worth chuckling st.
