I don't think he's arguing about stats, or even seriously comparing him to different players playing for different teams. We're so close to the top and Giroud is playing so well that that would be plainly ridiculous.

No, I think he's merely saying that his simple lack of pace makes our best players predictable, prevents us getting more of the best out of them.

I also cannot imagine TH intended his comments as a dig at Giroud. He mentioned last season too, when despite us leading the league for ages, and OG12 scoring goals and being our best player, nobody felt we would have enough to actually win the league.

be his perspective, his solution to everything.

Basically Henry is saying we'd be a better team if Henry were in it.

There are games when counter attack is important and then you need more pace but Arsenal being Arsenal that is rarely going to be more than 10 games or so a season.

Agreed..... however

I think we generally lack pace through the spine of the team, which doesn't help
