or the fact they really are c**ts?

I think a part each, although mostly the latter.

Personally I find their team ''effective'' but soulless and of course Terry is an A1 prick.

Still, that can be aimed at a lot of clubs but Chelsea do raise the hackles of supporters of many clubs.

I conclude it is Mourinho as nobody really hated them as much when they won things under other managers.

Just saying

fwiw I really like Ancelotti and the piss drinking, going-to-massage-parlours-in-his-club-tracksuitness of Avram Grant was quite amusing too.

Stamford Bridge was considered a seething hotbed of absolute c**ts.

Clearly, Mourinho, Drogba and Terry have done little to ameliorate this view.

Maybe getting up to Spurs level of dislike here. They have surpassed Man Utd and Liverpool too.

I also hark back to the fact that under Ancelotti et al they were not vilified so much.

Back in the day the club itself was just another crap club but their fans were scum of the earth. Now the club itself is obnoxious, and the manager more so.

I've never got to the bottom of exactly why they were all there though. I'm presuming they were empty, or it could've been some sort of disabled drive-in

Not by fans of the big clubs but must fans of the smaller clubs either liked or tolerated us as we were stunning to watch.

Outside of that success does breed contempt for sure

then given how much Mourinho wins AND pisses everyone off outside his own club in the process, then it's probably fair to see he does more for his own fans than any manager in history.

FA Cup wins, ECWC one year also.

Now they are big players, arguably the dominant force in domestic football in the past decade and for the next year or two will probably only improve.

Their Champions League win was without Mourinho and still caused reasonable consternation on here.

So there is an element of jealousy but more so a dislike or hatred borne from every aspect of the club – their finances, management, players, supporters.

The fact they are now successful, and by extension a threat to our success, escalates it further.

Madrid have kicked out almost every manager they have had in the past 20 years.

Don't rule out Ancelloti being kicked out this summer.

Also, they had a massive effect on the whole of Italian football, which Sacci still didn't completely eradicate with his AC Milan side, with La Grande Inter under Helenio Herrera in the 60s.

Can't have helped either to watch their big rivals being lauded as the best team ever in the history of Association Football.

The eye poking, and resultant cancer, was something else all the same.
