View Full Version : I watched the second half of the Madrid game last night.

Sometimes it takes looking at a game dispassionately to really notice the intensity. The speed, power and technique of top sides has moved on even from the blessed 2004 era. There simply is no time on the ball any more, for anyone. The speed of thought and movement on display is nothing less than shocking.

My heart is still pounding a bit at the excitement of it all, to be honest.

Eddie Redmayne could follow up his best actor Oscar award with the Golden Raspberry equivalent.

I cringe listening to her.

It's also a bit odd that - because of the old magic box of copyright infringement - I'm now listening to reviews of films I've seen some time before. They had one the other day where they reviewed John Wick and Force Majeure - both of which I'd watched months ago.

I find it hard to think of a sportsman outside boxing who has ever managed to take self-regard to such a level.

Until they check their win bonus numbers. I suspect they forgive him quite a lot, then.

He's a perfect example of the truth of my theory that you can tell someone's personality from their face. He looks like an arrogant scrote, and is an arrogant scrote.

Namely that his 'unselfish' play was very much all about his ego.

Who are you cheering for from this point Sir C?

Or perhaps like me you are simply sat back waiting and watching with no personal or emotional investment as four true giants of the European game clash like rutting stags.

We briefly considered going to Germany. Then we decided that life was too short to go to Germany as a holiday.

Got depressed. We are, at this moment, better than either of those teams. We should be in the Semi

I agree the pace was very high indeed but Atletico could not retain possession at all and Real had no midfield creation, just quick passing into space. Even Isco, who I think is wonderful, was struggling.

I believe we could give Real or a good go, but Barcelona or Bayern would rip us to bits though.

Wasn't thinking of hiring a car, tbh. Do they have trains in Spain? Do they stay mainly on the plain?

I find a car essential equipment on holiday. But I suppose I'm odd.

Because of **** flight options we're doing t'north to Madrid, staying there for a couple of days and then training it down to Cadiz via Toledo and Cordoba.

Really looking forward to it

In this case a simple "I don't give a *******s" would have been sufficient.

Your personal reservations vis a vis the four protagonists are of no interest to this man.
