View Full Version : So it's the annual parade of racists that is St George's day

You can tell this by the amount of passive aggressive Facebook posts about how celebrating St George's day isn't racist.

I'm not saying only racists celebrate it, it's just a massive coincidence that the people who do also like to post stuff like this directly below.

https://fbcdn-sphotos-d-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-xpa1/v/t1.0-9/10478571_637708729664515_4737324305652313990_n.jpg ?oh=8e9beee82fed114b0c7c0aad5cbd6c65&oe=55DC7826&__gda__=1436508062_7463e25c6c8562bb6c2fd7f49d72563 7

Now, I'm not wanting to be judgemental here but if you are going to pretend not to be racist why not leave out the racist **** for a while beforehand, eh?

notions of racism - then one day in the year you're like a princess being confronted with a navvy's cock, shocked to swooning point at the very thought of such badness.

You're conflating patriotism with racism, because you dislike this country. That's fine, accuse away, see if I care, but at least have the *******s to be honest about it.

How was yesterday my friend? Were you rumbled leaving the office mysteriously smartly dressed?

It does not suggest hatred or animosity on behalf of whoever posted the image. It does not suggest a feeling of superiority over Muslims, or that Muslims are in any way inferior to the person that posted the image.

It is perhaps an ill-advised or ignorant comment on a perceived social injustice, and you know, he has a point (if what the poster says is correct). I base this on a very limited almost non-existent knowledge of your bedroom tax.

Where it may touch on racism is with respect to discrimination, where members of different races should be treated differently. If so then the onus or blame of racism is with the law maker.

You know sometimes racism is only there if you want to really go looking for it.

p.s. celebrating St Georges Day is not a racist act either.

The point is that, if you are going to pretend not to be racist for a day then you should probably keep all the other racist **** on the down low for a wee while.

And I don't dislike this country, I dislike many things about it and most of the people. Especially the ones who don't have the balls to say they are racist, closing instead to hide behind patriotism.

It's spreading a falsehood deliberately designed to incite ill feeling towards a section of society that's the act of a racist though. Or an idiot, which isn't great either.

I have no particular interest in celebrating St George's Day as it isn't customary in the culture within which I grew up. Should others wishto start such a practice which may, in say 100 years time, become as natural and widespread at St Patrick's Day, I wish them well.

One has no right to claim citizenship if a chap with half an education can spot a spelling error in something you have written?

This is some far out f**king ****, man. Kudos.

I reckon at least 70pc of these sort of posts have some form of grammatical or spelling issue.

There are many things that Britain has given the world that I am very proud of (yes, this is the equivocal bit) and the thing we should be most proud of is the English language.

It's early.

Ftr I do not celebrate St Patricks Day. As a young man on the golden paved streets of London town I did go out and 'celebrate' in Irish joints but this was merely using the day as a vehicle to get my hole with a nurse.

This could as easily have been April 17th or May 17th. The day itself did not bother me.

I'd rather know there is at least a small bastion of patriotism still extant then hear only of jorge's type defacing WSC's statue, for example.

Can you imagine the meeting?

"Right, we've f**ked off the disabled, the poor and pretty much anybody else with a social conscience, have we missed anybody?"

"There's the Muslims"

"We can't offend them. After all, so many of them are tory voters"

going on and on about how I should speak German because I am in Germany. I said I will speak it when they finally make up their mind on which of their myriad versions for "the" they would like to settle on.

Besides a) I don't know the German for "Is Ramos the most despicable c**t ever to set foot on a football pitch"

b) Even if I did the Madrid fans to whom the comment was aimed would probably not have understood anyway

It's tribal. It's display amongst their friends and within their culture.

I feel vaguely queasy about them being mocked by the chattering classes. Why can we not leave them in their ghettoes to behave as they wish?

I do recall a brouhaha about this at the time.

If so, and if a Muslim was allowed to declare certain rooms as being prayer rooms to avoid the tax then I would not mind either.

Christians pray also, especially us Catholics. Not so sure about Protestants all the same. I doubt they do.

Which means they feel it necessary to foist them onto the rest of us at every opportunity. It's very tiresome.

I blame the whole education system for giving them ideas above their station.

Though, as you're in Bavaria, I don't expect it to be as nuanced as one of the hanseatic ports. I'm not sure self-reflection and self-awareness is that much of a Bavarian trait, is it?

People were faced with pretty big rent hikes until they were rehoused, which isn't that easy a process given the dwindling public housing stock and the fact that the policy exacerbated the shortage even more.

The main issue is that it made no allowance for carers of sick people so people who genuinely needed a spare room for their carers, who were chronically ill and therefore couldn't work, were penalised.

It's not the spelling that's the issue, that's all I'm saying.

The number of lads in Rangers jerseys?
