I will agree that changing 60% of the defensive unit could be construed as a risk but assuming fitness these boys have to play at some point. Bellerin had been playing with injury and the Pole is our cup goalkeeper, Gibbs meanwhile was largely viewed as our first choice in that position until recent weeks/months.

Harsh perhaps to blame him but then those are the moments in games when you want your keeper to do his thing, produce that save and dig the side out of a hole.

I don’t think the deflection was so massive as to make it unsaveable though of course the distance and speed of it all is very difficult for us to gauge.
