I've got an image of Tim Sherwood basically ejaculating into his gilet come May 30th. :-(

Imagine if the Weng said such a thing...

I mean he had one good season that was pretty much entirely based on having Suarez. He has then utterly spunked all the money from that sale and is now looking at the Europa League (surely the most imaginative punishment for mediocrity the world has ever seen, btw).

I'd say fifth is about his minimum requirement.

It was his first crack at the Champions League and the domestic cups are obviously just a bit of frivolous fun.

I'd give him another 3 years, at least.

and if he hadn't been tainted by managing Liverpool, I'd actually consider him a good candidate for replacing Wenger.

suggest that having managed two clubs at Premier League level he has pretty much reached the pinnacle of his profession and is therefore probably pretty good at it.

(which I think both he and Liverpool's board would say it is), then you'd have to say his record's a bit f**king patchy.

I see that he plays attractive, attacking football, is tactically malleable, is highly dedicated and motivated, is forward-thinking, has the requisite level of stubbornness and open-mindedness that I think all top managers need.

He's also worked under Mourinho, which is no bad thing.

And he very nearly won the league. Indeed, came closer than we have for a long time.

His transfer success looks a bit dubious, but, again, we can pluck out plenty of Wenger duds too.

undermines him on the transfer front. For one thing he made it pretty clear he didn't want Balotelli - and given how little he has used him I would suggest Lambert wasn't his pick either

Last season they were 2 results from winning the league

That's a pretty decent season in anyone's book. I suppose this one has been relatively disappointing, but I'd expect them to be relaxed at present.

Ballotelli is astrange one. I have never seen anything about him to justify the hype. Bang average player imo

and for the price he paid, it was worth it.

He's mega talented but Rogers was hoping he could get into his head and sort his attitude out. Maybe a touch arrogant of him, but he's not the first manager to try.
