View Full Version : It has been quite something how the FA Cup has opened up for us for the past two seasons

Firstly getting drawn at home in every round last season (albeit against three good teams), then Wigan knocking out Man City and facing Hull in the final.

Then this season there was that weekend where Man City, Chelsea and Spurs all got knocked out by weaker opposition. Then we get a favourable semi-final draw, and now we face favourable opponents in the final.

Schneiderlin is a similar version, but with much better passing ability. He'd be quite a good signing

We just need to keep everyone we want, avoid injuries, prepare well and make sure we don't have such a **** start as we did this year.

We are after all one of the top 10 richest clubs in the World - Europe so that in turn should feed into the quality and / or scope of playing resources we have available.

We have a handful of genuinely world class footballers at the club and others who are clearly above the average standard at a domestic level (in the so called self styled best league in the world, ever).

We also benefit each year from being seeded which in theory should allow us to progress from the group which of course we do, but as winners thus hopefully allowing for an easier draw.

We appear to continuously shoot ourselves in the foot as such.

We then as fans kind of have a general acceptance that last 16 is our level.

I never expected to win in Paris, not before or during the game. Less so then when we went down to 10 men. It was inevitable what was going to happen.

Factor in Henry's miss at our end and then the classic error by Almunia.

The Liverpool final was beyond cruel having played them off the pitch and scorned a few chances the kill the game stone dead. Then two goals in 5 minutes and having to put up with cheery smiley Scousers all night.

Couldn't actually understand how we weren't at least three up in 2001. And that's leaving aside Henchoz's blatant handball that never, ever gets mentioned in the context of that game.
