I watched Generation War this week. [spoiler]

I thought it was well acted and compelling, despite the criticisms. Mixing protagonists and antagonists is always interesting. I was actually disappointed that Friedhelm didn't make it. His journey from pacifist to enthusiastic war criminal was pretty cool.

But yes, the criticism is that in fact most people were well up for it.

victims, wasn't it? It's a bit of a comforting myth, that one. And, in fairness, it's a new departure for the krauts, who certainly always used to be alarmingly frank (to the point of tedium) about the guilt they felt about the war even when it wasn't their generation.
