The nice thing is that it seems genuinely more democratic nowadays. Now the Americans aren't really that interested, and the Cold War has subsided, there seems like there are a bunch of ambitious countries - not to mention some exciting companies - involved in space.
The Philae probe could possibly be waking up again soon as the comet is moving closer to the sun. :cloud9:

Space stuff costs *a lot* of money, but then again so did voyages of discovery, which also eventually more than paid off.
