We've been no a good run and we'll have a positive end of the season. but no need to ruin it with all this title talk. The last month or so has been very refreshing.

Also I like modd but if he is for real he might actually be r'tard. Every single time we win a game you go no this and you read stuff like 'It's in our hands' 'The Russians' ZZZZZZZZZ

You can't have one without the other, which I know sounds quite tempting

Though having owned one for almost a year, I am still ambivalent about the net value of dishwashers

so can pop loads in the dishwasher at once

The idea of being without a dishwasher fills me with horror.

I'm going to buy a new oven shortly. I'm pathetically excited poring over all the options. :cloud9:

and the stuff that needs rinsing before putting it in the dishwasher and the stuff the dishwasher doesn't clean properly.

Then there's the loading and unloading.

I'm unconvinced.

and yet let him drink from an unsteralised sippy cup, not to mention shove food in his mouth that's fallen on the floor and the like.

Why do bottles need to be steralised but noting else?

Berni

Or that you don't cook anything interesting enough to create a lot of washing up.

Berni
04-13-2015, 09:55 AM
I was happy to let one go, but this is too much!

Monty91
04-13-2015, 09:56 AM
I still reckon, on balance, I'd prefer to just wash it all up (which should take no more than 10 minutes between two of you)

You sound to me equivalent to someone saying he'd rather take his clothes to the river and beat them on a rock than stick them in the washing machine.

Monty91
04-13-2015, 10:03 AM
daily basis is at the very least equal to that required to wash up manually.

It's quite simply a false economy.

I should also say that it sounds like you don't own many kitchen utensils that are too expensive to put in the dishwasher. Who's the Jew now?

When it ruins them, I throw them away and buy new ones.

the key comes down to just how 'clean' are you getting things.

Most dishwashers will have a rinse/dry cycle exceeding 80 degrees, this is as close to sterile you'll get domestically.

Hand-washing? the hottest temp before potential scalding is about 50 degrees and that's assuming you rinse before drying.
Do you use tea towels or air dry?

Its all about the hygiene and how far you want to take it.

I must admit, I do blench somewhat when I see you put good knives in there. A small part of me wants to weep.

Is the whole point not to dispose of them, in a bin.

Berni

You are clearly too neurotic and Jewish about it.

Not at all,

I am a professional caterer so have a mind for this sort of thing.

Monty's assertions re labour and costs are valid.
The only valid arguments for having a dishwasher are:
1. you don't want to wash up by hand with your partner drying/putting away/criticizing your washing up
2. you freak about germs et al
3. you feel obliged to have one as they've gone to all the effort of making them and telling you you want one

sounds like you're a manual man then. more cupboard space for you when you bin the broken machine.
Happy days

Not only does the dishwasher's heat kill all of the germs, a judicious opening just after it's stopped dries the **** in there too.

Ultimately, life is too short for washing up, as evidenced by the popularity of dishwashers.

didn't think of that one. Poor you.
