View Full Version : Billions of pound/barrels of oil spent on city and the best No 10 they can come up with is Milner?

I'm no fan of the arriviste former everybody's-second-favourite-club but this is surely taking the piss to the next level.

Far be it from me to harsh Pellegrini's buzz but you do have to wonder whether he was caned when he decided on that formation.

I think we can agree Silva is a useful No 10

But not to Wenger obviously.

As soon as they were unable to make it rain every transfer window they seemed to atrophy, which is of course very different from a trophy.

Plus, both times they've won the league, it's been pretty close.

In other news, I know someone who taught Milner at school and - sit down, this might come as a bit of a shock - he is glue eatingly thick.

They are also a few years ahead of City in a cycle of regeneration. While they have already forced the exits of their former ‘greats’ such as Lampard and Cole, this summer sees City in a similar position of having to (try to ) offload certain players to reduce their average age.

Chelsea have also played a blinder in getting round FFP with their ability to get huge fees for certain players which allows them to re-invest and improve.

Naturally at City it is Pellegrini that will fall on his sword though increasing media suggestions that it is the two boys above him that should be accountable.

You may well be right about the swapping - I've just looked at their respective heat maps but quite frankly they mean nothing to me

won't either.

Rodgers, Benitez?

I suppose Simeone is an obvious choice.

Also, spunking 42m on Mangala seems a little bit like bad business too

The logical and sensible thing to do is to retain him as he would then be in the final year of his deal and perhaps somebody comes available next summer.

He may even be able to turn it round if they have a decent summer. They will have a fair few players to try and move on to raise monies to buy.

Not sure that will happen all the same.

Did occur to me when those two boys were appointed that PG was next.
