Christopher Walken is brilliant in it, it's one of De Niro's most underrated roles too. I also love the fact it's ostensibly a Vietnam film but spends more than two thirds of the film in Pennsylvania.

Also, I don't usually fancy Meryl Streep but she look fiiiiiiiiiiit in it, innit?

escape my memory. That, and the Russian roulette scenes :-(

I'm currently re-watching the Director's Cut of Das Boot :cloud9: one of my favourite war movies, along with Apocalypse Now.

I reckon there would be quite the overlap were we both to compare our top 10 fav war filums :nod:

Though I have to say Full Metal Jacket and Battleship Potemkin would be in there, and of course Paths of Glory, which is possibly the most underrated war film ever.

Not sure I've seen Jarhead but I don't think it's advisable I watch American Sniper
