See also House of Cards, The Sopranos and indeed many other television series which my life is poorer from not having seen.

I think I have S1 of BB on DVD though, a gift.

House of Cards (both original and new) are both excellent. Sopranos didn't do it for me. I gave up after 4 or 5 episodes.

A bit relentlessly gory but none the worse for it.

True Detective was one of the best things I'd seen in ages too.
