If you can't, go with Uhuru like Brentwood said.

Shall I invest in an iMac? I have a macbook but I think working from home needs some discipline with a specific location for me to sit at.

Plus an excuse to buy a new machine. Unless they provide me with won like my wife's job does.

What about transferring files and then reloading programs?

My developer works off of his mbp with pretty much that set up without any problems.

Obviously though, get another mac, it's worth it just for opening the box.

So I took my laptop into a lad in work and said I thought it was causing problems accessing the VPN.

Anyway, he did something, wiped the ass off the laptop, put something new on, 7 maybe, don't know. Has told me it will work better next time I want to work from home.

Free as well.

Hope this helps.

ce will all be on PC, all documents and saas software you run with them CRM etc will run better on pc plus web casts etc. Also if you go into a sales meeting / demo with a Mac to connect the projector then the other people in co. you presenting to will not have the leads plus they will think your a cnut

unless you in media, publishing , design or use it just to piss about on like Rich then dont use imac etc for business

or business type stuff yes ? dont waste yuor money on a mac ..you will regret it..as you will need to get a mac version of all docs, programs etc ..its a pain not worth doing

Transferring files is easy. Just move them to cloud storage or an external HD first, then drag them back into Linux

You're right about the projector stuff, however if you buy yourself the requisite whatever-mac-use-now to ****ty-old-serial-port-****ty-pcs-have-used-from-the-dawn-of -time adaptor you're in gravy.

Plus they look so much better than your usual things SalesFash can probably stick at least 50pc on his day rate.

It's sales/contracting business travel. Not got the gig yet but I will do what I can.

I am just looking for an excuse to buy a a imac. I like my macbook pro but I prefer working on a proper computer.

Seriously there are no problems using MS office, apart from MS office being a piece of ****, of course.

I might even know a chap who could get pat some software

Don't worry about the Mac advice from the fanboys.

Get what you can afford, be that 7 or whatever.

colleagues at the company I was pitching to was amazingly obvious..then I had projector issues..and they just sat there and said why didnt I bring a laptop ? cnuts..and I didnt get sale or even another meeting. So it put me off using them for work again tbh

but works well enough.

Weirdly I preferred using photoshop on my old laptop than on my mac but I think it's because of the touchpad. I dunno.

Just not buying this "it's nice to look at *******s". It's a f**king computer, it is meant for computing, not gazing upon.

If you want to gaze upon an iMac then get a f**king picture of one and stick it on your fridge.

Ftr I have numerous Apple products - iBook, MacBook Pro plus the usual phone and tablet double combo. They all work.

So does the Dell Laptop.

The iMac, Macbook Pro and iPhone were all free.

The iPad is actually belongs to my Mrs but I bought it and have open and free access to it.
