Why Tottenham's Kids Are Playing...
I see Tottenham are getting a lot of praise for the crop of youngsters who have been given a chance recently (Mason, Kane, Bentaleb etc) but doesn't this just come down to the fact they wasted a heck of a lot of their money on signings like Capoue, Paulinho, Soldado etc etc?

Being held up as a club that others should look towards as a bastion of youth development and protector of young English players is a bit of a joke seeing as its purely based on financial mismanagement. None of the youngsters would get a look in if the fancy foreign singings had worked out.

Probably doesn't help that Sherwood keeps chipping in to mention it all the time and he is such a fantastic wally.

there is something odd that means, whilst they aren't actually a big club, their players get an automatic England career.

It used to be pretty bad but nowadays, with players like Walker, Lennon, Townsend et al, it's just taking the piss.
