Leaning towards the yoghurt knitters as they don't seem to be arseholes. I'm not entirely sure they're competent but, quite frankly, I don't think that has been a massive barrier for the last couple.

Also I don't like the sound of that mansion tax business.

I intend to have a mansion at some point.

I think May may well be a bloodbath for Labour tbh, not to mention the libs.

The greens seem to have done a better job of splitting the left vote than UKIP have on the right.

rather than being boring, hard-nosed and pragmatic enough to realise that it's better to swallow the stuff you don't like in order to get the stuff you do.

And, of course the Labour politicians who actually were cynical and pragmatic enough to realise this and thus win elections(Wilson and Blair) were and are hated more by their own side than by their opponents.

totally abhorrent to the electorate when push comes to shove. They will just not vote for him in droves.

After all, it did for Kinnock and he was much more credible than Miliband. And he was Welsh, ffs!

the house with the intelligence to oppose Cameron's utterly mental and disastrous Libyan intervention.

Some might claim that there was no way of knowing how much it would f**k up the region but those of us who have never swallowed the cool-aid guff about such humanitarian bull**** operations predicted this would happen.

Besides, it's tradition for Islington North to have a Labour MP.

Strange to see him vote for TTIP and the extrajudicial courts ruling though, he was never that in fear of the whip previously.

anyone who doesn't embrace multiculturalism, on the grounds that there is no alternative (there is an alternative imo). Apologies if I misunderstood your position, of course.

Classic Jorge
03-23-2015, 02:03 PM
And given everyone else was against multiculturalism, without being able to nail down what it is, and yet I didn't call anywon a racialist I'm not sure how you got that from that.

You know full well the UKIPs are racists though, I mean the documentary a couple of weeks back would tell you that, not to mention most of them will tell you what colour "some of my best friends..." are.

Also, what's the alternative? I was thinking about this in terms of how we spin it out into all of the other isms and discriminations too.

Classic Jorge
03-23-2015, 02:21 PM
I don't know if you also picked up the main thrust of my point on that discussion but it was more about multiculturalism being a pointless sticking plaster on the gaping wound of inequality, which is the real problem anyway.

Ashberto
03-23-2015, 02:27 PM
It's a decent point you tried to make about inequality, but plenty of the most radical haters of the west (the 911 bombers, for example) were middle-class, educated westerners.

Classic Jorge
03-23-2015, 02:34 PM
The 911 bombers weren't our problem, or at least not one we could do anything about.

economy with free trade, free capital mobility, free movement, migration, etc.-- we can avoid "multiculturalism"? Is it not in the so-called cultural logic of late capitalism?
