Some of our European home guys reminds me too much of those ghastly performances at Wembley.

to many plastics at the home games and we don,t seem to understand european nights need us to be 12th men

away fans get it. home fans most of the time do not.

also we need to start winning groups. would help our cause a lot as easier turns ties around when we home second leg.

And then they absolutely shat on us.

:-(

Highbury always had about 12,500 plastics in in it.

Increasing the capacity to 68,000 just means we have treble that smout now going to games.

In other words we now have the capacity of highbury attending the Emirates but they're all plastics.

If one person can't pay then it's not an issue because some other lost soul will buy it up.

Worse case they buy the ticket themselves and recoup the money through selling them individually through the site or ticket exchange.

The ticket price is one of the components which in turn allows the club to have your Ozil and Sanchez types.

Of course there is lots of other revenues running through the club but the ticket price, which perhaps is a little excessive, is one of the major revenues the club can manage.

The level of demand is simply a factor of history, success and geographic location.

If there wasn't an excessive demand for a limited number of tickets then they wouldn't be so cheap.

Bringing Ozil and Sanchez is rather flawed (to use your term) we are infact only still purchasing players in line win what we can afford.

Similar equations existed at Highbury with its lower prices when we purchased the likes of Wiltord and Reyes.

Theses are players who if they played today and in their prime would command similar fees.

We live in the world of 90m euro players mate. Ozil and Sqnchez fees are chick feed to what the real big guns can pay now.

Just look Pogba. arsenal aren't even mentioned with him even though we need a midfielder with his qualities.

If you think the tickets prices are high to fund better players then good luck to you.

But that's the business model the club has decided to follow, all the moaning in the world or debate won't change that.

I have regularly said that the club should in previous years have spent more than they did, accepting a level of debt that could be managed.

I was of course wasting my time but then we all are on here.

In respect of Pogba who you use as a good example, the reason why I would expect us to not be realistic contenders for his signature is of course part financial as you suggest but equally a harsh reality that we're simply not at that level.

He will have his choice of clubs all over Europe, the real genuine big boys, of which we are not one. He is unlikely to leave Juventus for a club that has not won it's domestic title in 10 years, nor ever really threatened to win the CL in that time either.

You need to read what I said again.

We're not really genuine contenders for Pogba, even if we wanted to be.

Sorry, you tailed off towards the end there and my interest wained.

Anyways, I still don't get what his point is

If you want thick fans it would make sense not to charge Monty-prices, wouldn't it?

People pay thousands at the opera too, but there's never more than a dozen c**ts in attendance that understand German, Italian, French or whatever. Bunch of posers.

Crucially though, wealthy posers. Also crucially, they get no censure for it.

You'll remember back when they bought Brady from us. He went on to win two titles with them. Now, they are champions again (as, you say, for the third time in a row) but they can't even afford to pay decent money upfront for our cast-offs like Lord Nik and yet we ourselves are still finishing third/fourth.

When do actual performances on the pitch come into the equation?
