Whilst in Pizza Hut (:-() I heard a Northern man (:-() say that "like the food's proper good everywhere here, quality like, but it's not 8 quid good is it".

I know of people who attend such events at Butlins at least once a year.

I went to a Pontins in Devon in my infanthood. A more up-market Butlins, I gather. Stayed in a chalet next to the pool. Great, it were.

Which I have attended quite a few of.

The all weekend festivals are more ATP which are held in Butlins Minehead, or a Stockport Soul Weekend.

Last festival I went to actually was in Butlins just outside Dublin.

such horrible things surronded by old, messed up gurning goons ..now over 40..would bev fecking horrible tbh and ruin my old images viewed through rose****ed spectacles imo.. best keep moving forward SW ..those days are gone as is our youth

You convince yourself before going that it is a much better idea than a conventional festival because you have a bed, then proceed to barely use it for the entire duration.

at a holiday camp or even an organsied rave was unhip and for normals and beer heads who came into scene too late :-) i looked down my e'd up nose at such events imo ..castle morton was last nig thing i went too...a rave hipster so to speak :****er:

You simply adjust and compensate for being older.

That is to say you stand at the sides and shuffle your feet slowly while, and this is hugely important, you keep your t-shirt on at all times.

I was in London from 87, knee deep in that ****.

As a 'scene' I found the illegal venues to be not as cool or as much fun as they are looked back on with nostalgic eyes, largely due to a very sinister undercurrent which I found to run through them.

I would have been sat in a field in Somerset at a music festival while you were at home dreaming of becoming JPR Williams.

in fact we used to get a lot of our wholesale stock supplies from some lovely republican types for speed / goldsealin north london and some lovely uda type chaps just off the new kings road for e's :-) so yes you oirish were there from the stat and I was messing with cha

The lineup was serious but slightly disturbing to the senses owing to the differing odors and carpeting in each stage.

For example I'll forever smell athletes foot and feel marshmallow floor when I listen to Dean Blunt.

it was nicer in 88 - 89 i agree in fields really by 91 indeed it was getting very dark ..being out by oxford i always found coming into the arches / london bridge ngihts much less fun than being under the m40 somewhere :-)
