they would have scored at least 3. Missed loads of chances.

We're probably a bit ****ter than PSG, mind you :-)

An early goal for us and it's game on.

would also put a very different complexion on things with 45 still to play?

The hypothetical argument is one of the singly most pointless things in football.

Something we are all guilty of mind you. We (Arsenal supporters) are world class at it in fact.

If Eduardo had not broken his leg we would have won the league.
If van Persie had not been sent off we would have beaten Barcelona
If Giroud had taken his chances this tie would already be won

We get the early confidence boost needed to make us think we can win.

We also have plenty of time to then score the other 2 we need.

The early goal is not essential but would be nice.

What I'm proposing is that if we create a lot of chances and manage to convert those chances into goals unlike the Cavani-Lavezzi duo of exasperation, we have a shot

I realize I am not really saying anything, but that's football talk, innit?

I just find it extremely prevalent in football (probably all sports to be fair but I don't pay as much attention to them).

The hypothetical reasoning used to explain a bad result or defeat is always preferable to simply holding hands up and awarding credit to the other side. Two weeks ago for example the almost universal response has been to look at the chances Giroud spurned as opposed to Monaco pulling off a rather brilliant away result.

had things gone differently. I expect there's an evolutionary reason for it.
