Why on earth would u let someone with just 12 fights on their cv take on an undefeated champion?

And why on earth didn't his corner throw the towel in? Instead they let him lose on points?

Don't see any point in busting a gut to win a game in a competition that we won't win.

Reminds me of when we beat Roma on penalties. Pointless.

Let's concentrate on finishing 2nd and retaining the FA Cup.

that said I don't want the team to lose or go out becauseI can't stand the cry babies and moaners on here.

Let's face it do you really fancy Mertersacker with Ronaldo, Bale and Benzema running at him?

no.

And as good as Coqblock has been I think he will get exposed by the likes of Kroos and Isco who as they say are different gravy.

It will be a bridge too far for him is season.

We blew our CL hopes. should've won it the year Porto did then Henry screwed us over vs Barca.

have 'fluked' it.

We are likely to go out but to give up because we won't win it does seem a bit strange

improbable things that have happened in football ever.

So, y'know.

Just stating that us being eliminated is no bad thing given that we have a good chance of having our best league finish for many a year. In fact it would be our best season domestically for longtime if we finish 2nd and win the FA Cup.

A massive improvement on last season.

Besides I don't think we could fluke a win vs Real in a final. We would get pounded into submission.

The team is not good enough (at least for this season)

Had we not scored with 10 minutes to go in the semi-final last year then the FA Cup would have been won by Wigan or Hull.

Any c**t can win a cup with a degree of good fortune and luck.

Are Real really that good at the moment? Their defence is a shambles and Ronaldo has got a massive strop on.... I doubt they will even get to the final

We're better than them, aren't we?

IF we get to the Qtr's I would suggest we have a sporting chance

Winston Wolfe
03-17-2015, 02:06 PM
Mathematically this is still possible and we've seen City make massive comebacks from worse positions with less games yet no one really gives us a chance this year with the current equation.

Winston Wolfe

Pretty sure they would take a Champions League final a lot more seriously than a tie that was already won.

really do flukes, I can only think of the 2005 FA Cup final tbh.

We could still get Bayern, Barca, Real or PSG over the course of the next rounds should we extricate ourselves from the predicament we've found ourselves in tonight.

Schalke would've got 4 or 5 past them if Real wanted.

If it's not a fluke then it's in the 'f**king lucky' folder.

We beat them.

But equally we could get Porto or Leverkusen in the next round, neither an easy game but neither as difficult as a Bayern or Barcelona.

Listen I know it is hugely improbable that we will win it as there are a few much better sides than us still in it, but when you're still in a cup competition you still have a chance.

Pokster

so with a favourable draw we coul dbe in the final

I don't expect us to get through tonight but for once Monty is correct, it wouldn't be such an earth shattering event if we did

I would say that, on that basis, the odds are strongly against us overturning the deficit from the first leg.

A decent percentage of people on here would be utterly convinced we were going to Berlin.

You know yourself that is how football operates. Ridiculous highs and equally as ridiculous lows. Very little logic in between.

I think we will go out given the scoreline after the first match, but equally I know we have a chance of going through.

It's a fascinating game really.

For the record I am not in the camp that thinks Monaco are (still) a poor team as we 'could' have scored 2-3 before they even registered a goal last time.

If as Monty suggested we had gone away from home at this stage of such a prestigious tournament and won 3-1 it would have been heralded as a heroic performance.
