Queenies to start. Bad idea, as they were served battered and fried which I would like to have had pointed out on the menu. Not what you want before a massive steak.

Sides of beef dripping fries, stemmed broccoli and caeser salad. All fantastic. Best Caeser salad I've ever had.

Apple, Plum & Blackberry Pie also fantastic.

Bottle of 2013 Syrah worked for me, but I know f**k all about wine.

1kg is about right if you're going easy on starters and sides, even if eating with a bint. Bear in mind the weight includes the bone and any excess fat.

I was disappointed with our porterhouse. I would go for a smaller cut next time. which have never failed me at Hawksmoor. I just don't think cooking such a big steak can ever do it any favours.
