No English clubs in the last 8?

and there's no way we won't concede, when 1) we don't and 2) conceding is fine as long as we score three.

Though I suspect that in order to win by 3 we may concede.

Couple of euro on us all the same.

We do need to score 3.

The immediate reaction to the home defeat was that there's no way we'll win 3-0 over there, as if that was the most attainable, but still not good enough, result.

They have the best defensive record in the CL this season, although they probably weren't tested much in the Group stages.

I can see us winning the match but not the tie. 3-1 over there and penalties seems our best bet, but even that is optimistic.

Winston Wolfe

Pretty sure we can score 5 spot kicks.

Ospina won't need to save one but it would help.

So to win the tie, and concede, we would be looking at scoring a minimum of 4 which is a lot which is a lot given their defensive showing from the group stages.

3 is a lot as it stands.

but as I would rather stub cigars out on my eyes than watch us in a pelanty shootout WE NEED TO WIN 3-0.

4-1 would be fine also. I expect they concede four goals at home quite regularly.

Monty91
03-12-2015, 01:32 PM
which is a scenario every one of us would take right now.

Early goal all the same and literally game on.

I am an optimist in relation to things like this.

I just don't think it is utterly impossible as most people seem to have resigned themselves to.

we'd basically be in the QFs by now.

Although it will probably be Ramsey in the middle with Ozil and Sanchez wide.

Ashberto
03-12-2015, 01:40 PM
Though on reflection I'd rather take 3-1 after 90 minutes. They might be a little bit panicked at that point as the away goal advantage moves to us.

So basically you're right. We'll win 4-1 :hehe:

The tactic of swapping one utterly bang average striker for another perhaps even more bang average striker worked well on Monday.

Greedy you see, and we're loaded.

Nothing personal against any of the incumbents but where you can improve then crack on.

Perhaps they will simply focus on not conceding and set out with little in attack. We will still create chances as we are usually too good not to, get one early enough and then we'll see what the reaction is.

Second then at any time and they **** their French pants.

Harsh.

Leinster have been pooh this season but their record in France is actually pretty good.
