View Full Version : De gea is fantastic. Those two saves near the end were brilliant. I

It feels weird to see refereeing decisions going against united (correctly) at old trafford. And no public outcry.

Fergie would have been going mental :-)

He's really an exceptional keeper, and they've had a few over the years.

Thoughts on the Big Pole's dodgy display?

It was only seeing the replay that you saw how ridiculous it was.

Bellerin would have gone in any other game we have played there in 20 years.cdi maria would have got the foul instead of a booking.

Ref did very well although you could argue he should have sent off bellerin.

at OT would genuinely have had to worry about his career prospects, as Ferguson would have briefed against him so thoroughly (and been supported in doing so) as to destroy his credibility. That's not a conspiracy theory, it's just how Ferguson used to work.

Everyone talks jokingly about 'Fergie-time' and all the rest of it, but the flippancy overlooks the fact that it was a very deliberate and highly effective strategy of bullying, vindictiveness and intimidation on Ferguson's part that was connived at by the media.

He also made a complete hash of a cross. Something is up with him. No case for his recall based on last night.

The whole experience left me feeling rather strange.

Riley's probably as relieved he's gone as anyone.

He wouldn't have got angry in the interview, he'd just have laughed at the decisions, thus implying they were so incompetent you couldn't even get angry about them. From there, the cowed media would have followed his lead and every slight error the referee made after that would be endlessly scrutinised until he got demoted.

c'mon, we've seen this time and again. You can't help but fall back to your default expectation.

fwiw, I thought the ref had blown for a penalty even though he was shaking his head. I never thought it was a penalty at any point.

is purely superficial - behind the scenes he, and the rest of the powers that be at United went out of their way to schmooze and charm
